Project
Amsterdam Street Art’s first event took place from 8th until 12th June 2010. Both national and international artists came to Amsterdam to present their work in galleries, paint a hostel, paint the I Amsterdam logo and, of course, leave their trademark outside on the streets where street art belongs.
Exhibitions were held in BEP's gallery windows, Outland Store Gallery, The Thought Gallery and GO Gallery. The upper level of Bob's Youth Hostel and the I Amsterdam logo on Museumplein got a new look. Some artists have even done an assigment when being in Amsterdam. Such as: painting a wall on the Prinsengracht, outside Cafe Belgique and the installation of an artwork in the Super Plus office.
Artists who invaded Amsterdam came all the way from countries such as Canada, Italy, and England, and of course The Netherlands itself. We are very proud to having had the following artists at our first event: The London Police, Hugo Kaagman, Pez, Ives. One, Galo, Flying Fortress, K74, NOL, Fake, Farkfk, Recall One, Orticanoodles, Bue The Warrior, Chase and Indigo.
Our effort was great and so was our first very successful event with positive feedback from visitors, artists, partners and media.
