An interview with ASA Artist, Telmo, of duo, Telmo Miel.
1. We are a big fan of your work. What is coming up that we NEED to know?
The first thing that you need to know about is that we are going to paint in Barcelona with a lot of great artists at the end of May. So there will be some nice murals to show you when we are back!
2. What mediums do you use at the moment to make the artworks and are there any new progress in new mediums or formats?
My current mediums are spray paint and acrylics. I’m always searching and trying something new so I started to mix it up with some oil painting but I will never leave my spray paint behind.
3. You have a partnership with Miel. What does the partnership means for you?
The partnership means a lot, its great to work together with someone that really understands and trusts you because we’re both on the same level with techniques, inspiration and vision. And its definitely much more fun than working alone!
4. What is the next step in photorealism in your perspective?
Adding some flavor and trying to make it your own. I always like to mix my photorealism with some surrealism.
5. What do you think of the Dutch street art culture?
I think the Dutch scene is growing a lot. There is much more happening now a days with and for street art in holland and also the interest of outsiders for the culture is growing. I am glad to be a part of it. The murals are getting bigger and the artists are getting better.
6. I have seen a big progress in your artwork. What do you think about your own progress of the last years?
I’ve been painting non stop these last years so after a while you get techniques like a veteran and your vision about art in general and the subjects you wanna paint about are getting clearer. So every year there is some growth and progress and I think that will never stop, because there are so much possibilities with painting and creating that you always will learn something new!
