Get ready for ASA’s latest exhibition: Tattoo Express. Over the upcoming three months, 13 talented tattoo artists will flaunt their ink alongside the raw edginess of street art in the gallery of Amsterdam’s art’otel.
With its roots in ancient traditions and its pulse in contemporary trends, tattoo art has a rich and fascinating history. This exhibition is all about honoring the soul and deep impact of this timeless art form. The lineup for this exhibition features three international names, along with a very special one: Rob Deut, a beloved figure in the tattoo community who has sadly passed away. With his four artworks featured in this show, his contributions continue to inspire us all.
Peter van der Helm, Michiel van der Born, Ben de Boef, Annibal, Enrico Bandito, Stefano Phen (ESP), Kyle Warwick (UK), Rob Deut †, Martin-Jan de Groot, Orus (ESP), Sivanski, Slacker and Tattoo Molly bring an array of styles, techniques, and designs ranging from canvas to photography, effortlessly fusing ink with the gritty spirit of street art. By smashing these worlds together, we aim to highlight how different forms of art inspire one another.
On the 4th of April, we opened this incredibly cool exhibition. Visitors were warmly welcomed by Monkey Shoulders, who greeted them with a delicious, sweet, and fresh cocktail. DJ Reggie Satanas played some raw beats while people got to admire the amazing art pieces. Martin-Jan de Groot, Peter van der Helm, and Ben de Boef had set up their workspace. In front of the beautiful mural by Kyle Warwick, three workbenches were placed where guests, who wanted to, could make an everlasting memory of the night by getting a tattoo. If you missed it, worry not because the exhibition will be visible for the next three months.
As always, during this exhibition, we host our beloved workshop series “Canvas ‘n Cocktails.” For the occasion, we are introducing a special edition: “Tattoos ‘n Cocktails”! Michiel van der Born and Ben the Boef will both do a workshop session on tattoo design. The first workshop will take place on the 24th of April, book a spot here and don’t miss out on this exclusive experience!!!
