You can not deny that Amsterdam has quite a bit of water and canals. When Guildor from Italy got in contact with us about his Write on the Water installation, we thought it would be just perfect for Amsterdam and its canals. Guildor on the other hand thought it would be perfect to add his Write on the Water thoughts in Amsterdam when we have our event up and running. We agree and so we have invited him to come to Amsterdam.
When is this urban intervention happening? The plan is that on Saturday 25th June you can spot two or three of his installations. If you have a preferred location, let us know ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). On the day itself we will give you directions on where to spot them all.

Our next vernissage at Aalborg Hotel (Sarphatipark 106) is happening on 27th May. It is Jenny Bhatt from India whose work will there for you to view.
Jenny Bhatt's concept of MokshaShotsTM was first introduced in her work in a solo exhibition in Mumbai, India in 2008. In Indian philosophical thought, ‘Moksha’ (also called ‘Nirvana’) means salvation. A MokshaShotTM, by the artist’s definition, is a taste of the Sublime. Jenny believes that since we probably won’t get to full-fledged Moksha in this lifetime, we can get a glimpse of it. Each individual can make his own MokshaShotTM out of anything s/he finds fulfilling – art, a chocolate brownie, sex, a film, a vacation, a tequila shot or maybe even sneakers!
The night is sponsored by our friend Jameson Whiskey.
VERNISSAGE: FRIDAY 27th May - 17:00-23:00 hrs

Come out and discuss about urban farming at the 10th edition of the monthly KamerVragen evening, where ideas and business concepts get created by one expert, one designer and twenty creative minds. Urban Strawberries is the theme for this edition and is taking place as part of the Strawberry Earth Film Festival at Studio K on 4th June.
We, Amsterdam Street Art, are present with one of our artist Bustart. When the ideas get created, Bustart visualises the subject there and then.

Project ASA 2011 takes place from 22nd until 26th June in and around the Amsterdam city centre. With just over two months to go, preparations are therefore in full swing.
The line-up of fifteen street artists is almost complete. The first five names are: Btoy (Spain), Ottograph (Netherlands), Sweet Toof (England), Cosh (Netherlands) and Erick Hikups (Belgium).
Btoy is Andrea Michaelson and her art focuses on stencils and iconic photography. Ottograph’s first street art is made at the age of ten. Since then he has painted walls in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Antwerp, New York and Tokyo. Sweet Toof was a member of the Burning Candy collective until september last year. His characters are always depicted with a broad visible teeth smile. Cosh from Rotterdam is an illustrator and animator. According to the bio on his website, he also makes time for his art on the streets. Erick Hikups comes from Brussels, where his work with expressive eyes is visible in many places in the Belgian capital.
This year’s second edition of Project Amsterdam Street art is taking place with a thank you to our partners Unfold Magazine, ABC Bookstore, Ironlak, Jameson Irish Whiskey, The Thought Gallery, BEP Gallery and GO Gallery. It takes place from 22nd-26th June 2011.

Our next vernissage at Aalborg Hotel is happening on 25th March. It is Roy P Bradley from England (but living in Amsterdam) whose work will there for you to view.
In his work he is mainly using acrylic mediums of varying consistency and texture, he creates surfaces on the canvas and rub, scrape, brush, pour and scratch both thin and thick layers of paint with cloth, knives, squeegees and other tools, often removing layers to leave just enough paint to be caught within the grooves of, say, a previous brush stroke on a previous layer.
The night is sponsored by our friend Jameson Whiskey.
VERNISSAGE: FRIDAY 25th March - 17:00-23:00 hrs
